It too brought the unabridged production team to tears.[4] Rick Rubin elaborated on the recording process in an interview with Rolling Rock, stating:
" | [Adele] sang [the song] so beautifully too. I hateful, she sings everything so beautifully. Y'all don't have to do anything to get her to sing neat. You simply accept to fix a mic and permit her sing it. She sang it so much, when we worked on information technology; when the band was playing it, she sang. She must accept sung the song, I don't know, 30 times in a row. And every fourth dimension was astounding.[5] | " |

" | I said, 'Oh mum, I've covered "Lovesong," it'due south a bossa nova version' and she was mortified. So I played information technology for her and she loved it and she cried, but the (initial) thought of someone ruining a Cure song fills her with despair. She'd disown me if she didn't like it, but she loved it.[6] | " |
Adele added that she was quite proud of her slower version because you lot could cover the lyrics better and chronicle to the song more: "Information technology'due south beautiful having The Cure do it, apparently, simply when it's a scrap slower you can kind of just... you know, not so noisy, you can hear the lyrics and it's merely... destroying." She farther expressed her want for the ring to hear her version and like information technology.[vii]
